Stained Glass An Important And Innovative Form Of Art

Stained glass is an important and innovative form of art, that throughout the ages has grown in design, technique and been stretched to various cultures in the world. Stained glass illustrates stories by putting together pieces of colored glass into a mosaic form, to create a picture. Stained glass has existed for millenniums, and through its time the term â€Å"stained glass† is thought to be of reference to church windows and various other significant buildings. Traditionally, stained glass windows are made in flat panels and used as windows; modern stained glass offers artists to include three dimensional structures to the art. Basically stained glass is a couloured glass that is used for decorative or pictorial means; most commonly by setting contrasting pieces in lead framework such as mosaic that are used for church windows. The technique of stained glass has been present in a variety of cultures throughout time, as stained glass is a powerful form of art when it comes t o embracing cultural or religious beliefs, for it is a strong way to venerate beliefs. In some cases, stained glass is used to embrace features of a country, such as â€Å"Kitengela Glass Factory, Kenya† which is situated next to village market, Nairobi.
